Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does this work? You sign up for an adventure (or all!) and you'll receive an email a few days before the event with all of the information you need to know about the day of the event. On the day of the event, you'll meet us at the launch location indicated in the email (with all of your gear, if you're not renting), sign a waiver, and then we'll talk about basic kayaking techniques (if needed) and safety information. Once everyone is geared up, we'll launch everyone as best as we can without you getting wet (please note you might get a little wet getting in and out depending on the conditions) and we'll paddle the adventure as a group!

  • How old do I have to be to participate? Most of our adventures will be 18 and up. This is a program where adults can have a night out and enjoy some peace and quiet. In the event of a family paddle (we will specify ages on each adventure), we will allow kids to attend and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Do I need to sign a waiver? Yes! Also, please note if you bring any belongings on the adventures and lose them, the Paddle Adventure Club is not responsible for your items.

  • What if there is inclement weather on the day of the adventure? We will make the decision to cancel the adventure if it looks like inclement weather during the outing and we'll reach out by phone or email.

  • What should I bring? A paddle/life jacket (unless you're renting a kayak), dry bag (or purchase a P.A.C. one), money (if needed for launch fee or pub paddles), sunscreen & bug spray.

  • What should I wear? Water shoes (preferred)/sandals/shoes with a thin sole, lightweight and comfortable clothing (do not wear jeans or heavy cotton), and a rain jacket/windbreaker (dress for the weather).

  • What is included in the rental? Kayak, life jacket and paddle. If shuttling is needed for the adventure, shuttling is included.

  • Can I shuttle if I'm bringing my own kayak? Yes, it is an extra fee of $10 (at registration) and we will put your kayak in our trailer and shuttle you and your kayak to the launch so you end at your vehicle.

  • How do you shuttle a group of 15? We will set shuttling times ahead of the adventure time that you will need to be at the location so everyone is able to participate. Example: Adventure time is 3:00 pm. Shuttling times may include 2 pm & 2:30 pm.

  • Can my friend and I shuttle ourselves? Yes! That would be great to make room for more participants.

  • What if there is a parking/launching fee? We will let you know ahead of time if there is a fee and you will be responsible for the parking or launching fee. It is not included in the registration.

  • What if I have never kayaked before? No worries - you are more than welcome! Come try out a rental and we almost guarantee you'll purchase one for yourself and bring your own on the next adventure! Please keep in mind we do stay paddling together the whole duration of the adventure, so you should know your limits if you can keep up with a relaxed group for two hours.

  • Am I required to wear a life jacket the entire time? On lakes, yes! If you capsize (not likely, but there is always a slight chance), you will be glad you have one on! If you can’t touch the bottom, life jackets are required.

  • Cancellation Policy: Customers who purchase $5/kayak cancellation insurance will receive a full refund on the booking if cancellation is made with at least 24 hours notice.
